Showcasing a talking heads short film isn't going to get you noticed by audiences or industry insiders. You need to capture their attention with compelling and engaging narratives that have a beginning, middle, and end within the short film running time of 40 minutes or less (you generally want to stick with 5-20 minutes most of the time).

Original SAIGON KICK guitarist Jason Bieler recently launched a new project dubbed OWL STRETCHING, which he told BW&BK; first-hand is "a constantly morphing project with different guests that I use as a vehicle to release new music." He has posted the new song 'Beautiful Game' online. Check it out below:

Perhaps aside from equalization, there is no type of processor more essential to the audio engineer than the compressor. Originally used in the broadcast industry to prevent the over-modulation of radio waves, music engineers gradually realized that compression could be used for other purposes. Compressors can even out the dynamic range of signals, making them easier to balance against one another. They can also manipulate transients so that the attack of kick or snare drums are more or less pronounced. Additionally, because many early hardware compressor units were tube (valve) based, engineers utilized the fact that they had a rich tonality to them, making them great for adding harmonic content to recordings.

Use M/S mode to fine tune the dynamics of subgroups and your stereo buss. I find the Mid-Side capabilities to be incredibly useful when you want to alter the dynamics of the information in the middle or panned to the sides separately. For example, you can compress the information in the sides to add liveliness and excitement to them without altering the dynamic range of the kick, snare, bass and lead vocals, which are generally panned center.

For their video essays, six film critics started simultaneously with the artists and filmmakers in the exhibition, raising exciting and interesting questions about the role of art, reflection and spectatorship.

Somewhere between documentary and film journalism, free work and essay writing, they are faced with the question: how to reflect on a work in progress? Also: is not every form of art criticism also a work in process and should not critics each time reassess their position towards a work?

It could be Drumline or The Music Man, but throw in this "drum" emoji with a "bandaged" emoji (a.k.a. Miles Teller), plus any line from the fantastic Whiplash, and there will be no doubt which movie is being discussed. Some examples to kick it off: "ARE YOU RUSHING OR DRAGGING?" "I'm upset. I'M UPSET!"

Another double whammy! The "nauseated face" emoji may have been made to express extreme sickness, but why not take advantage of that lovely green hue? With Marvel studios continually churning out Avengers characters into their own films, fans could start tweeting the studio with this Hulk green face to demand another shot at a standalone movie for the hero. If horror is more your fancy, try this "Hulk" face combined with the "upside-down" emoji for a Regan-inspired reference from The Exorcist. "What an excellent day for an exorcism."

Eli Roth Presents: A Ghost Ruined My LifeTravel Channel, 9pmNew Series!Horror filmmaker Eli Roth is a creative mind behind this hourlong series that has already streamed on discovery+ and makes its linear debut tonight. It relates the shocking true stories of hauntings that have left emotional (and sometimes physical) scars on those unlucky enough to have experienced them.

Their names are inspired by kung fu film stars Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, but Hitmonchan's alternate name (Ebiwalar) is a reference to Japanese world champion boxer Hiroyuki Ebihara, while Hitmonlee's name (Sawamular) comes from the world's first kick-boxer, Tadashi Sawamura. TRUTH!

A lot of thought and care went into the naming of the characters in this film! Kamaji means 'old boiler man', Boh means 'little boy' or 'son', Zeniba means 'money witch', Yubaba means 'bathhouse witch', and the name of the heroine, Chihiro - means 'a thousand searches'. FACT!

Alas, not in hand to hand combat - at the box office! For fifteen years Steven Spielberg's E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial was the highest earning film in Japan. When Princess Mononoke hit theatres in 1997 that suddenly changed and it became the most popular film of the time.

The adventure, the friendship, the quest to help their parents and save their homes. We love this film for its innocence and the booby traps, dusty maps and who could forget The Truffle Shuffle? Directed by Richard Donner with a story by Steven Spielberg.

We loved it for the dancing and how vulnerable Kevin Bacon (Ren McCormack) was being the new kid, liking the popular girl, and standing up for something. He has to overcome objections to dancing and rock music by the powerful Reverend Shaw Moore (John Lithgow) who also happens to be the father of rebellious Ariel (Lori /singer.) The last scene where everyone is dancing at high school senior prom to title song by Kenny Loggins makes the movie. Directed by Herbert Ross.

A movie about a group of different kids sitting in Saturday detention that touches on so many universal issues for our teens. It was said that the director of this film, John Hughes, wrote the screenplay in just a few days based on some of his own high school experiences. The students are played by actors Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall, and Emilio Estevez.

One main real reason to watch Mystic Pizza with your teens is to show them Julia Roberts in what is considered her breakout role. Playing working-class waitress, Daisy Araújo, she lives and works in Mystic, Connecticut where she meets Charles (Adam Storke) from the wealthy side of the tracks. A classic coming-of-age story also stars Matt Dillon in his film debut. Directed by Donald Petrie.

A major chunk of Kickstarter projects (40%) are films, music projects, and books. This makes sense: Kickstarter was founded by a trio of Burning Man enthusiasts as a way for creative types and artists to raise money.

As a business owner or entrepreneur looking for bang-for-your-buck advertising, you know that a short clip of a high-profile hit is a powerful attention-getter. You may have heard of "fair use," a copyright provision that permits you to use 10, 15 or 30 seconds of music without copyright obligation. That is, you understand that you can use a short section of a song without paying a fee. Yet, you're wondering how exactly this works. 2ff7e9595c
